Datti Baba-Ahmed Critiques Shettima's Cap Choice

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, publicly criticized Vice President Kashim Shettima during an appearance on Seun Okinbaloye’s Mic On Podcast. Baba-Ahmed questioned why Shettima does not wear President Bola Tinubu’s signature broken-shackle cap, suggesting that this choice was significant enough to warrant esoteric explanations.

He accused Shettima of consulting “marabouts” who advised him against wearing the president's cap, which he argued was a tactic to undermine Shettima's character and faith. Baba-Ahmed's focus on Shettima's headwear and reliance on superstition was seen as a departure from substantive political debate, revealing a lack of seriousness in governance.
