Sambo Questions Datti Baba-Ahmed's Presidential Ambition

Sumner Sambo, the Director of Politics at Arise News, questioned Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, regarding his failure to declare a presidential ambition if he believes that the current opposition contenders, including Peter Obi, lack the capacity to lead Nigeria. Baba-Ahmed stated during an interview on MIC ON Podcast that none of Tinubu's challengers could change Nigeria.

In response, Sambo criticized Baba-Ahmed's comments on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, suggesting he should allow active politicians to pursue their ambitions. Sambo highlighted that Baba-Ahmed's suggestion for President Bola Tinubu to prepare to leave office without handing over power to any current challengers was disjointed.

He acknowledged the risks taken by opposition figures like Obi and Atiku Abubakar in contesting against a sitting president and cautioned Baba-Ahmed against making statements that could escalate political tensions.
