Kevin De Bruyne and Napoli set for separation in 2027

Kevin De Bruyne and Napoli are reportedly on course to part ways at the end of the 2026/27 season, as negotiations for a contract extension have stalled. According to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, the discussions have reached an impasse, making a separation increasingly likely when De Bruyne's contract expires in June 2027.

Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, had previously stated that De Bruyne, who joined the club in the summer of 2025 after leaving Manchester City, was an important part of the club's plans under new manager Massimiliano Allegri. However, De Bruyne's first season in Italy was marred by injury, limiting his contributions.

The uncertainty regarding his future has intensified following the departure of Antonio Conte and the appointment of Allegri, especially after De Bruyne's previous criticisms of Conte's tactical approach. Despite these challenges, De Bruyne remains committed to the Belgian national team, expressing no intention to retire while he feels capable of performing at a high level.
