Political Commentator Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu Found Dead

Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, a political commentator and social media personality, was discovered dead at his residence in Gaida, Kano State. Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso raised the alarm on Tuesday, stating that Dan Shagamu was found in a pool of blood and described the incident as disturbing.

Kwankwaso alleged that Dan Shagamu was brutally slaughtered and called for an immediate investigation by the Kano State Government. He warned that if authorities fail to act transparently, the incoming Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Government would launch a full investigation upon taking office.

Amnesty International Nigeria also reacted, urging a detailed investigation and justice for Dan Shagamu, emphasizing that critics should not be killed in a democracy. Husaini Mai Riga, the Kano State Chairman of the NDC, condemned the incident, calling it unacceptable and raising concerns about security and press freedom.

He urged authorities to protect journalists and ensure accountability for Dan Shagamu's death.
