NPC Chairman Dr Aminu Yusuf's Death Mourned by Ukam

Bishop Alex Ukam, the Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State at the National Population Commission (NPC), expressed deep sorrow over the death of the NPC chairman, Dr Aminu Yusuf, who passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026. Ukam characterized Yusuf's death as particularly painful, noting that it was unexpected given Yusuf's vibrant commitment to advancing the Commission's affairs.

He described the late chairman as an impactful leader and a team player who demonstrated goodwill, love, care, and support to his colleagues. Ukam emphasized that Yusuf had lofty plans and aspirations for the NPC, which made his passing a significant loss.

He commiserated with Yusuf's family and the NPC management and staff, stating that they had lost a "rare gem." Ukam also mentioned that the circumstances of Yusuf's death should be accepted as the will of God and prayed for forgiveness for the deceased's shortcomings, as well as strength for his family and colleagues to bear the loss.
