Tinubu Mourns NPC Chairman Dr Aminu Yusuf's Passing

President Bola Tinubu expressed profound sorrow over the death of Dr Aminu Yusuf, the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), who passed away at the age of 66 on Friday after a brief illness. In a statement released on Saturday by his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Niger State, particularly those from Wushishi Local Government Area, as well as to Yusuf's family, friends, and colleagues.

Tinubu recognized Dr Yusuf as a distinguished son of Niger State and a dedicated public servant, highlighting his extensive record of service, which included his role as Executive Chairman of Wushishi Local Government Area, his involvement in Niger State's political and administrative affairs, and his membership on the Board of NAFDAC. The President noted that despite Yusuf's brief tenure as NPC Chairman, he demonstrated a clear vision and commitment to enhancing the Commission's role in providing reliable demographic data for Nigeria's development.

Tinubu urged NPC staff to honor Yusuf's legacy by continuing his reforms and institutional strengthening efforts.
