Atiku Abubakar Condemns Attack on Peter Obi's Convoy

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), condemned the attack on the convoy of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), during Obi's visit to Benue State. In a statement released on Wednesday by his campaign spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo, Atiku described the attack as unacceptable, shameful, and undemocratic.

He called on the government and security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. The attack occurred when suspected thugs barricaded a road used by Obi's convoy, preventing him from reaching bereaved families in Yelwata, Benue State, to offer condolences following persistent terrorist attacks in the area.

Obi's media aide, Esther Umoh, reported the blockade on social media, claiming it was intended to stop the convoy from proceeding further into the state. A video was shared alongside her claim, purportedly showing the obstruction.
