Defence Minister Accuses El-Rufai of Planning Killings

On Thursday, Defence Minister Christopher Musa accused former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of intentionally orchestrating killings in Southern Kaduna during his tenure. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Musa criticized El-Rufai’s administration for fostering division among communities, stating that it created a toxic environment where residents from Southern Kaduna struggled to live in the northern part of the state.

Musa claimed that the killings during El-Rufai's eight-year administration left lasting scars on the community, asserting that the former governor had deliberately planned these acts. He referenced El-Rufai's public statements regarding his administration's dealings with bandits, suggesting that El-Rufai was proud of his controversial measures.

Musa noted that the current governor, Sani, has made efforts to unite the state, contrasting the current security situation with the previous administration's record of violence. He acknowledged ongoing challenges but emphasized that the level of killings has significantly decreased compared to El-Rufai's time.
