Defence Minister Praises Security Forces for Oyo Rescue

Defence Minister Christoph Gwabin Musa (retd) praised Nigerian security agencies for their successful operation that led to the rescue of abducted pupils and a teacher from three schools in the Oriir Local Government Area of Oyo State. In a statement made available to journalists on Monday, Musa described the operation as a major boost in the nation's fight against insecurity.

He noted that the successful rescue reflected the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations and inter-agency collaboration in tackling kidnapping and other security threats. The operation involved multiple agencies, including the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Musa expressed condolences to the families of security personnel who lost their lives during the operation and assured continued government support for their welfare. He reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to enhancing the operational capacity of security agencies and urged for sustained cooperation from the public to support security efforts nationwide.
