Aguocha Urges Igbo Communities to Defend Against Bandits

Obi Aguocha, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, advised Igbo families and communities to defend themselves against bandit incursions. This statement came after two individuals, Denni Izuchukwu Okechi and Onyinyechi Ekechukwu, were rescued from kidnappers in the Ohuhu area of Umuahia North LGA.

Aguocha raised concerns about the increasing attacks by bandits, noting that the community has not seen a victim, identified as Uch Amaechi from Akpahia, for five weeks since his abduction. He called for action, urging the Igbo people to no longer remain silent in the face of such threats, stating, "People strangle us in our sleep." While acknowledging the government's efforts, Aguocha emphasized that vigilance and community defense are essential to combat the rising tide of terrorism and kidnapping in the region.
