Delta Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest 10 Suspects

The Delta State Police Command reported significant operational successes over the weekend, including the rescue of a 60-year-old man who had been kidnapped. The operation took place in Alisime village, Agbor, where police engaged the abductors in a shootout around 6:00 p.m.

The victim was rescued unharmed, while the kidnappers fled into the bush, reportedly with gunshot injuries. A mobile phone and an ATM card were recovered from the scene, and a manhunt for the fleeing suspects was initiated.

In a separate operation at Abbi, the Command Anti-Cult Unit (CACU) arrested 10 suspects during a raid on a suspected criminal hideout at approximately 9:30 p.m. This raid followed credible intelligence regarding a wanted suspect linked to an arson incident in Owhelogbo community in August.

The operation resulted in the arrest of seven females and three males, along with the recovery of quantities of Tramadol, Swinol, Canadian Loud, and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
