Delta Police Arrest 22 Suspects, Rescue Two Minors

On July 26, 2026, at approximately 1500 hours, the Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, conducted a coordinated raid on illicit drug dens in Ozoro and Abraka. This operation resulted in the arrest of 22 suspects, comprising 19 males and three females, for offenses related to the sale, possession, and distribution of illicit drugs.

During the raid, two minors were rescued from a suspected drug den allegedly operated by their father. The minors have been placed in protective custody and will be handed over to the relevant authorities of the Delta State Government for appropriate care.

Mr. Bright Edafe, the police command spokesman, stated that the use of minors in drug-related environments is deeply concerning.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Yemi Oyeniyi, assured that the police would continue to dismantle drug networks and urged community members to support the police with credible information.
