Delta State Suspends Works Commissioner Over Assault Allegations

The Delta State Government suspended Hon. Izeze Rume Yakubu Reuben, the Commissioner for Works (Highway and Urban Roads), effective immediately.

This decision was announced in a statement by Dr. Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The suspension is linked to allegations of assault involving Mr. Simon Mudi, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol, known as ‘Temple’.

The incident took place at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in Effurun, during a Delta Central meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Dr.

Emu stated that the suspension aims to facilitate an impartial investigation by security agencies without interference, emphasizing the government’s commitment to public safety, law and order, and the sanctity of human lives. The suspension will remain in effect pending the investigation's outcome.
