Governor Nwifuru Dismisses Works Commissioner in Ebonyi

Ebonyi State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, FCAI, GGCEHF, has removed Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam from his position as the Commissioner for Works, effective immediately.

This decision was communicated through a public service announcement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor. The statement instructed Mbam to hand over all government property, including his official vehicle, to the Secretary to the State Government and to transfer his responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works.

The governor did not provide any reasons for Mbam's dismissal. This development occurs amidst criticism of the administration regarding delays in ongoing construction projects across the state.

Despite this, Governor Nwifuru reassured residents of his commitment to effective governance and the improvement of public infrastructure. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works is expected to manage the ministry's affairs until further directives are issued by the state government.
