Delta Commissioner Suspended Over Assault Allegations

The Delta State Government has suspended Hon. Izeze Rume Yakubu Reuben, the Commissioner for Works (Highway and Urban Roads), due to allegations linking him to the assault of Mr. Simon Mudi, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol, known as “Temple.” The suspension, effective immediately, was announced in a statement signed by Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the Secretary to the State Government, on Monday. This action was taken to facilitate a full and independent investigation by security agencies into the incident, which reportedly occurred at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) in Effurun.

The government emphasized that the suspension should not be interpreted as a declaration of guilt but as a necessary measure to ensure an unbiased investigation. The administration reiterated its commitment to public safety, law and order, and the protection of human life.
