APC Claims 75% of Demolished Properties Belong to Members

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has asserted that 75% of the properties marked for demolition in a Calabar estate belong to its members. During a media interaction on Tuesday, APC Chairman Hon.

Chris Agara Etta characterized the proposed demolition as a politically motivated action against opposition members, specifically targeting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Etta emphasized that the demolition exercise is based on government regulations affecting individuals across political divides and expressed surprise at the PDP's reaction to what he described as a genuine government action.

He noted that while some APC members' houses were marked, the exercise is not solely an issue for APC members. Etta called for a proper investigation to determine whether the actions taken are purely political.

Additionally, Sir Arthur Jarvi Archibong, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, accused the state government of imposing excessive taxes on the University of Cross River State, challenging the university's management to disclose its tax assessment and payment history.
