APC Claims 75% of Members' Properties Affected by Demolition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has stated that 75% of its members' properties in a Calabar estate are impacted by proposed demolition actions. During a media interaction on Tuesday, APC Chairman Hon.

Chris Etta described the proposed demolitions as politically motivated rather than a lawful administrative action. He accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of misrepresenting the situation, asserting that the demolition exercise is based on government regulations affecting individuals across political divides.

Etta expressed surprise at the PDP's claims, noting that even some APC members' houses are marked for demolition. He emphasized the need for a proper investigation to determine the motivations behind the actions.

Additionally, Sir Arthur Jarvi Archibong, the PDP governorship candidate, accused the state government of imposing excessive taxes on the University of Calabar, challenging the university's management to disclose its tax assessment payment history.
