NDC Chairman Affirms Party's Legal Status Amid Court Ruling

Surajo Garba Maikatako, the chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Zamfara State, issued a statement on Sunday in Gusau, asserting that the NDC remains a legally recognized and operational political party despite a recent ruling from the Federal High Court. Maikatako described the ruling as a temporary legal hurdle and urged party members to remain committed to the ideals of democracy.

He emphasized that the NDC has complied with constitutional legal requirements and that its structure remains intact at both the national and state levels. The chairman reassured members that the party's candidacy for the upcoming 2027 general elections is valid and called for unity and calm among members.

He expressed confidence in the party's leadership at the national level and highlighted Kabiru Marafa as a key figure in the party's political aspirations in Zamfara State. Maikatako encouraged members to pursue available legal options regarding the court ruling.
