NDC Chairman Calls Deregistration a Temporary Setback

Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, the chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Zamfara State, issued a statement on Sunday, asserting that the party's recent deregistration is merely a temporary legal hurdle. He emphasized the NDC's commitment to democratic principles and its status as a legally recognized political entity.

Maikatako called for unity and support from party members, highlighting the leadership of Senator Henry Seriake Dickson and Senator Cleopa Mose Zuwogh. He reassured that the NDC remains operational and is preparing for the 2027 general elections, with all necessary legal requirements met.

The chairman urged the people of Zamfara State to remain hopeful and steadfast, particularly in light of the party's ongoing efforts to conclude its governorship candidacy process, with Senator Kabiru Marafa being a key figure in this initiative.
