NFF Fact-Finding Committee Reports on Super Falcons

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) established a six-man fact-finding committee to investigate the Super Falcons' disappointing performances at recent international tournaments, particularly their failure to defend their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco and their inability to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Chaired by Ambassador Fanny Amun, the committee included Dr Alex Mana, Desire Oparanozie, Ladan Bosso, Mutiu Adepoju, and secretary Nasiru Jibril.

The four-page report examined various factors, including governance, finance, technical development, and team dynamics. It found no evidence of player influence on team selection and confirmed that defender Ashleigh Plumptre was unfit to play due to surgery.

The report raised concerns about unrestricted access to the team camp and recommended structured player development, improved funding for domestic leagues, and better coaching education. It also called for clearer regulations and oversight in national team management.
