NFF Forms Committee to Investigate Super Falcons' Failures

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has initiated a fact-finding committee to investigate the disappointing performance of the country’s National Teams in international competitions, particularly focusing on the Super Falcons. The Super Falcons, ten-time champions and holders of the Women Africa Cup of Nations, were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the ongoing 14th edition of the competition in Morocco.

They subsequently lost 1-2 to South Africa in a playoff, resulting in Nigeria's absence from the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup finals to be held in Brazil. This marks a significant decline for Nigeria, which has participated in every edition of the tournament since its inception in 1991.

The committee is chaired by former NFF General Secretary, Ambassador Fanny Amun, and includes notable members such as Coach Ladan Bosso, Desire Oparanozie, Mutiu Adepoju, Dr. Alex Mana, and Mallam Mohammed Nasiru Sa’idu, who will serve as secretary.
