NDC Denies Dickson's Alleged Support for Tinubu
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted claims that its national leader, Seriake Dickson, is in league with President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in opposition to the NDC as the 2027 general elections approach. NDC National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, made this clarification during a press briefing at the party's national secretariat in Abuja on Saturday.
Cleopas addressed concerns regarding reports of the party's inactivity or internal strife, emphasizing that the NDC remains united and committed to its candidates. He noted that the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Executive Committee (NEC), and other party structures are fully engaged in preparations for the elections.
Cleopas stated, “Dickson would never consider supporting Tinubu and the APC,” questioning why Dickson would go through the process of establishing a new political party if joining the APC was a simpler option.
