Imo State Plunged into Darkness as Power Disruption Hits Amid Police Invasion

Imo State in Nigeria faced a complete power outage as Imo Disco disconnected bulk electricity supply following an alleged invasion and abduction of staff at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) station in Egbu. The incident, involving the Nigerian Police Force, led to a forced shutdown of power supply, plunging the entire state into darkness.

Transpow Electricity Distribution assured customers of efforts to restore power. The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) reported the abduction of its worker at gunpoint in the state.
