Traditional Ruler Shot Dead in Plateau State Attack

A traditional ruler was shot dead in Plateau State on the evening of the incident, which occurred around 7:30 PM as he was returning home to attend a traditional council meeting in Bokko. The attack took place when the traditional ruler's vehicle was ambushed near the boundary of Sha District and Daffo Community, close to his hometown.

The monarch sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby clinic for emergency treatment. Mr.

Aten Pukat, a community member, confirmed the incident and described the death of the traditional ruler as a painful loss for the people of Gwand and the entire Bokko area. Christoph Luka, a youth leader in Bokko, also confirmed the attack, which has generated tension in the community.

However, the situation was reported to be calm at the time of the report. The Plateau State Police Command spokesperson, SP Alfr Alabo, did not respond to a WhatsApp message seeking comment on the incident.
