Dolphins to Start WBPL Title Defense Against First Deep Water

Dolphins will begin their defense of the NBBF/Zenith Bank Women Basketball Premier League title against First Deep Water at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on Sunday. The reigning champions, who secured their second title last year with a 61-55 victory over First Bank in the playoffs final, are eager to avoid another lengthy wait for a third title.

This match marks the start of their campaign against one of the oldest teams in the league. The opening game of the first phase in the Atlantic Conference will also feature IGP Queens facing newcomers Victoria Queens, while First Bank, the record winners and last year’s runners-up, will compete against Royal Aces.

Additionally, two-time winners MFM will take on Bayelsa Blue Whales in the afternoon.
