Dominican Republic's Joheirry Mola Wins Miss World 2026

Joheirry Mola Dominguez from the Dominican Republic was crowned Miss World 2026 on September 5 during the grand finale held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, defeating 110 contestants. This victory marks the Dominican Republic's second Miss World title, following Mariasela Álvarez's win in 1982.

Mola succeeded Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri, the titleholder of Miss World 2025. Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés Alabern was the first runner-up, and Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty was the second runner-up.

Mola's win was significantly tied to her social-impact project aimed at providing English-language education to children in vulnerable communities. She expressed her desire to use her title to expand this initiative.

The competition featured 111 contestants for its 75th anniversary, with Nigeria’s Tamunosoye Karibi-George advancing to the Top 12, focusing on inclusion for children with disabilities. The event was notable as it was the first time Vietnam hosted the Miss World competition.
