Nigeria's Tamunosoye Karibi-George in Miss World Top 40

Tamunosoye Karibi-George, representing Nigeria at the 2026 Miss World pageant, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a place in the competition's Top 40. This accomplishment follows her victory in the Africa Top Model title, which she won on Thursday during the Top Model competition at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage.” Her win not only distinguished her among contestants from across Africa but also earned her an automatic spot in the Top 40 quarterfinals of the Miss World pageant.

The Miss World Organisation announced her as the continental winner alongside representatives from the Dominican Republic, France, and Vietnam. The overall winner of the Top Model challenge will receive a direct ticket to the Top 20 of the Miss World competition.

Karibi-George's success is also attributed to her strong performance in the Head-to-Head Challenge, where she triumphed over contestants from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya, and South Africa.
