Tinubu Urges Nigerian Youths to Stay and Build Nation

On Democracy Day, President Bola Tinubu made a direct appeal to Nigerian youths, urging them to reconsider the trend of emigrating abroad, commonly referred to as "japa." He emphasized that the future of Nigeria heavily relies on the commitment of the younger population to stay and actively participate in the nation's development. This address, marking his fourth month in office since May 2023, highlighted the importance of youth involvement in shaping Nigeria's destiny.

Tinubu pointed out that every generation has a role in defining the country's future, referencing the historical context of Nigeria's independence and the restoration of democracy. He encouraged young Nigerians to invest their talents locally, particularly in technology and entrepreneurship, and to engage in civic participation.

Additionally, he mentioned ongoing federal initiatives aimed at creating opportunities for young Nigerians, including educational loan funds designed to expand access to higher education and support programs for agriculture and small businesses to boost employment and productivity.
