Tinubu Urges Adeleke to Promote Unity in Osun Politics

On Thursday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu advised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to avoid stigmatizing his political opponents and to promote fairness among all political factions in the state. This advice was given during a visit by Adeleke to the Presidential Villa.

Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, won the recent off-season governorship election with 511,067 votes, defeating Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes. Tinubu encouraged Adeleke to seek genuine reconciliation and foster social harmony, stating that his position allows him to make a significant impact on unity and stability.

He acknowledged Adeleke's effective political mobilization that contributed to his victory. After the meeting, Adeleke expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, referring to him as the "father of the nation" and commended his role in ensuring a free and fair election, which he believes is vital for democracy in Nigeria.
