Dr. Odedina Launches Haven Pediatrics to Combat Child Mortality

Dr. Adegbajo Odedina, Chief Medical Director of Haven Pediatrics, established the hospital in GRA, Ikeja, on March 20, 2025, to address Nigeria's alarming child and neonatal mortality rates. Initially a 9-to-5 clinic, Haven Pediatrics evolved into a 24-hour mono-specialist facility dedicated solely to children.

Dr. Odedina, who trained and worked in both Nigeria and abroad, returned to Nigeria after contemplating leaving permanently, motivated by the urgent healthcare needs in his community. The hospital features a NICU and pediatric consultants, ensuring that children receive specialized care around the clock.

Dr. Odedina emphasized the importance of having a pediatrician available every day, with additional consultants on call as needed. Haven Pediatrics provides a range of pediatric subspecialties, including cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and more, aiming to give vulnerable children the best chance for survival and health.
