Alliance Hospital Launches Pediatrics Center to Combat Mortality

Alliance Hospital, led by Medical Director Dr. Chris Otabor, has launched a new world-class pediatrics center in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, with the goal of significantly reducing Nigeria's alarming infant and maternal mortality rates, which stand at 70 deaths per 1,000 live births.

Dr. Otabor stated that the hospital will do everything possible to address these critical health issues.

He lamented the inadequacy of pediatric centers in Nigeria and called for both government and private sector involvement to establish specialized centers nationwide. Dr.

Otabor also highlighted the need for improved neonatal intensive care units and urged private investors to emulate successful healthcare models from countries like India. The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr.

Manasseh Daniel Jatau, commended Alliance Hospital for its medical interventions and emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the health sector to leverage local resources for better healthcare outcomes.
