Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu: From Street Vendor to Business Leader

Dr. Stanley Ifeanyi Uzochukwu, born in Calabar and with roots in Nnewi South, Anambra State, grew up in Jos, Plateau State, where he received his early education.

He studied Botany at the University of Jos and began his career hawking perfumes and shirts. Uzochukwu entered the diesel and petroleum-product supply sector, leading to the establishment of Stanel Oil in 2012.

His business expanded into the Stanel Group, which encompasses energy, retail, automobile services, agribusiness, hospitality, and fast-moving consumer goods. A pivotal moment in his career was his mentorship under Dr.

Cosmas Maduka, who provided him with ₦150 million without collateral or a written agreement, based solely on trust. Uzochukwu returned the money within a year, demonstrating discipline and respect for the investment of credibility.

He continues to pursue intellectual growth through executive education at Harvard Kennedy School and other institutions.
