Drake Wins $1M Bet After Canada Defeats South Africa

Canadian rapper Drake won a $1 million bet following Canada's 1-0 victory over South Africa in the FIFA World Cup round of 32 clash. Drake, who hails from Toronto, placed a stake of $770,000, which resulted in a payout of $1,001,000 after Canada's win.

He secured a profit of $231,000 and shared the news on his Instagram account. The match, held at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, ended South Africa's best-ever FIFA World Cup campaign, as they reached the knockout stage for the first time but were eliminated by Canada.

The goal was scored by midfielder Stephen Eustáquio in stoppage time of the second half. This victory also marked Canada's first-ever qualification for the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup.
