Marwa Advocates for Girl-Child Protection in Kaduna

Brig Gen Mohammed Marwa, the Chairman and CEO of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), urged for the protection of the girl-child against systemic vulnerabilities that drive women and youth toward drug abuse. He made this call during a public presentation of the book "Shadow of the Neem Tree," authored by his daughter, Mariam Marwa Abdu, in Kaduna State on a Saturday.

Marwa emphasized the need for collective efforts from all stakeholders, including traditional institutions, to address the issues of poverty, abuse, and lack of education that contribute to drug abuse among women and youth. He expressed pride in his daughter's work, which aims to shed light on the harsh realities faced by young girls, including early marriage, which robs them of their childhood, education, and health.

The book serves as a manifesto for a lifelong mission to empower women and children, highlighting the urgent need to confront harmful practices in society.
