DSS Calls for Unity Against Terrorism in North-West Nigeria

On Thursday, during the second North-West Zonal Conference of State Directors of Security in Katsina, Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), urged for stronger collaboration among security agencies, government institutions, and communities to address terrorism and banditry in the North-West. Represented by Husseini Abubakar, the Chairman of the North-West Forum of State Directors of Security and Kano State Director of Security, Ajayi emphasized the importance of sharing operational experiences and developing effective strategies to combat these threats.

He noted that the DSS is enhancing its personnel's tactical capabilities to respond to emerging security challenges. Alhassan Iliyasu, the Katsina State Director of Security, highlighted the conference's goal of strengthening intelligence-led operations and fostering a collective approach to security, stating that community involvement is crucial.

A communique will be issued post-conference to guide coordinated security responses in the region.
