Katsina Security Chiefs Unite Against Banditry and Terrorism

At the North-west Conference of State Directors of Security held in Katsina, security chiefs and stakeholders emphasized the need for stronger collaboration and intelligence sharing among security agencies to combat terrorism and banditry in the North-west region. Katsina State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Alhassan Iliyasu, highlighted that defeating these threats requires community involvement alongside security agencies.

The conference aimed to review emerging security threats and develop strategies to curb criminal activities. Brigadier-general Ishaya Ibrahim of the Nigerian Army stressed that military operations alone are insufficient, advocating for real-time intelligence sharing and joint operational planning.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, represented by Deputy Faruk Lawal, noted improvements in Katsina's security through both kinetic and non-kinetic measures, attributing success to cooperation between conventional security forces and local security initiatives.
