Northwest Security Agencies Unite Against Terrorism

Security agencies in the Northwest zone of Nigeria have come together to combat terrorism and improve the welfare of security personnel, as announced at the Second Quarter 2026 North-West Zonal Conference held in Katsina. The conference, themed “Unite Against Terror,” was opened by Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, represented by his deputy, Faruk Jobe.

Radda, who chairs the Northwest Governors’ Forum, noted significant improvements in security due to enhanced collaboration among security agencies and community-based initiatives. Jobe highlighted that when the current administration took office in 2023, 26 local government areas faced persistent bandit attacks, but the situation has improved.

He emphasized the need for synergy among security forces and acknowledged the sacrifices made by conventional security agencies. The governor also mentioned the review of salaries for ward and village heads and the elevation of district heads to Grade Level 16 in the civil service.

Radda stressed the importance of boosting the morale of security personnel and called for responsible media reporting on security matters.
