DSS Calls for Unity Against Terrorism at Katsina Conference

On Thursday, at the second North-West Zonal Conference of State Directors of Security in Katsina, Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), called for enhanced collaboration among security agencies, government institutions, and communities to address terrorism and banditry in the North-West region. Ajayi, represented by Husseini Abubakar, the Kano State Director of Security, stated that the conference aimed to review the evolving security situation, share operational experiences, and develop effective strategies against these threats.

He emphasized the necessity of strengthening the tactical capabilities of DSS personnel to respond to emerging security challenges. Alhassan Iliyasu, the Katsina State Director of Security, noted that the conference aimed to bolster intelligence-led operations and collective action against insecurity, highlighting the community-based security approach adopted in Katsina State.

The theme of the conference, “Unite Against Terror,” underscored the need for a united front involving all societal sectors in combating terrorism.
