DSS Releases Mustapha Marwana, Compensates N3 Million

The Department of State Services (DSS) has released Mustapha Marwana, a carpenter arrested in connection with the abduction and killing of pupils and teachers in Oriire, Oyo State. The release was ordered by the DSS Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, after a thorough investigation cleared Marwana of any links to the attack.

The investigation revealed that Marwana, a Katsina-born artisan, was not affiliated with any terrorist organization, including the Ansaru group responsible for the attack. Following the review, the DSS approved an initial compensation of N3 million to assist Marwana in meeting immediate needs and restarting his livelihood.

Marwana was released to his lawyer, Oghene Forgive, who expressed gratitude for the DG's intervention. This compensation is part of the DSS's efforts to support individuals cleared after investigations and facilitate their reintegration into society.

The current DSS leadership has reportedly paid over N300 million in compensation since Ajayi's appointment.
