DSS Investigates Operatives' Conduct in Sowore Court Incident

The Department of State Services (DSS) has initiated an investigation into the conduct of its operatives following an incident involving Omoyele Sowore at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday. A video circulating on social media showed DSS officials scuffling with Sowore, who had forcefully entered the court building.

This incident prompted a public outcry, leading Dozi, the Deputy Director of Public Relations for the DSS, to state the necessity of the investigation. The statement clarified that Sowore's actions were curious, as he opted for a DSS vehicle during the altercation.

The background of the case involves Sowore's prosecution by the DSS for alleged cybercrimes, with charges filed on August 25, 2025. Sowore had made disparaging remarks about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on social media, leading to a demand for a retraction.

Despite the incident, Sowore was granted bail on self-recognition. The DSS emphasized its commitment to professionalism and adherence to the rule of law.
