DSS Witness Testifies in EFCC Chairman's Defamation Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja heard testimony from a witness from the Department of State Services (DSS) in the defamation case against Ola Olukoye, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The case was initiated by Mose Oddiri, who allegedly published defamatory posts on Facebook claiming Olukoye embezzled 4 billion naira in royalties intended for the Orogun community in Delta State.

The DSS received a petition from the EFCC on September 23, 2025, prompting an investigation that led to Oddiri's arrest on November 10, 2025. During the proceedings, the prosecution, represented by Yusuf Adam, detailed the examination of Oddiri's social media activity and the collection of evidence, including video downloads and bank documents.

Oddiri faces two counts of cybercrime under the Cybercrime Prohibition and Prevention Act of 2024. The trial is set to continue on March 13, 2026, after defense counsel M.

Adeniran objected to the trial's commencement due to lack of access to the defendant.
