Mose Oddiri Faces Trial for Blackmailing EFCC Chairman

Mose Oddiri is facing charges of cybercrime and blackmail related to allegations against Ola Olukoye, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). During a court session on September 23, 2025, Yusuf Adam from the Department of State Services (DSS) testified that Oddiri published videos on Facebook accusing Olukoye of intercepting and stealing N4 billion in royalty payments meant for the Orogun community in Delta State.

Oddiri was arrested on November 10, 2025, and during the investigation, DSS obtained several videos and documents related to the allegations. The defense counsel, M.

Adeniran, objected to the commencement of the trial, claiming lack of access to Oddiri while in DSS custody. However, Justice Joyc Abdulmalik ordered the trial to proceed, with the next hearing scheduled for March 13, 2026.

Oddiri has been arraigned on two counts of cybercrime under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2024.
