D’Tigress Triumphs Over Philippines in FIBA Qualifier

D’Tigress bounced back from a loss to South Korea by defeating the Philippines in a FIBA qualifier, winning by 17 points. The team, under the guidance of head coach Rena Wakama, demonstrated resilience after trailing in the first half.

Marjanatu Musa had an impressive performance, recording a game-high 12 rebounds and eight assists. Nicol Enabosi also stood out, contributing 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Nigerian team rallied in the third quarter with a 17-12 run to level the game at 67-67 before taking control in the final period with a decisive 25-12 run, including an early 9-0 run that helped seal the victory. Following this win, Nigeria is now joint top of their group alongside South Korea, with three matches played.

They are set to face the host nation, France, in their penultimate group match on Sunday.
