Duke Urges Reforms to Address Nigeria's Deepening Crisis

Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) for the 2027 general election, has urged for urgent and comprehensive reforms to address Nigeria's escalating crises, including insecurity, agricultural revitalization, infrastructure rebuilding, and strengthening education and healthcare systems. Duke, a former governor of Cross River State, stated that Nigeria is facing weak governance and ineffective leadership, which have led to a stagnant economy.

He emphasized the need for opposition unity to provide a credible alternative to the current administration. Duke warned that without a decisive change in direction, Nigeria risks worsening social and economic conditions.

He expressed that his return to frontline politics is motivated by the urgency of the situation, predicting that failure to act could lead to disasters. He attributed rising insecurity to decades of poor governance and called for prioritizing productive investments and policies that enable wealth generation.

Reflecting on his tenure, he highlighted successful initiatives in agriculture and tourism that stimulated economic activity in Cross River State.
