Duke Urges National Reforms to Tackle Nigeria's Crisis

Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) for the 2027 general election, has urged for urgent and comprehensive reforms to address Nigeria's escalating insecurity, revitalize agriculture, and improve critical infrastructure, education, and healthcare systems. Speaking in an interview in Abuja on Wednesday, Duke, a former governor of Cross River state, expressed concern over Nigeria's weak governance, ineffective leadership, and stagnant economy.

He warned that without a decisive change in the country's current trajectory, Nigeria risks descending into a severe social and economic crisis. Duke emphasized that the political class must prioritize national interests over personal ambitions to forge a new direction for the country.

He attributed the rise in insecurity to decades of poor governance and called for productive investments and policies that enable wealth generation. Reflecting on his tenure, he noted his administration's focus on agriculture and tourism, which significantly boosted economic activity in Cross River state.
