Rafiu Durosinmi Eyes Belgian Golden Boot After Strong Start

Rafiu Durosinmi, a Nigerian international striker for Genk, has set his sights on winning the Belgian Pro League’s top-scorer award following a strong start to the season. He scored Genk’s opening goal in their 2-1 defeat against Zulte Waregem on Sunday and was named Man of the Match despite the loss.

Durosinmi expressed his ambition to score consistently and compete for the top scorer title, stating, “I have always dreamed of that.” The 25-year-old aims to follow in the footsteps of compatriots Paul Onuachu and Tolu Arokodare, the latter having scored 14 league goals for Genk in the 2024/25 season to become the Pro League’s top scorer. Durosinmi has opened his account and needs 13 more goals to match Arokodare’s tally.

He will have another opportunity to score when Genk hosts Westerlo at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday, as he seeks to turn his promising start into a sustained scoring run.
