Ogah Demands Apology from CSOs Over Nwifuru Claims

In Ebonyi, Ogah has given civil society organizations a 21-day ultimatum to retract claims of non-performance against Governor Francis Nwifuru, threatening legal action if they do not comply. The coalition, which includes groups like the Human Rights Volunteer Corps and the Good Life Initiative, alleged that Ebonyi lost access to a $27 million World Bank program due to failures in public financial management and transparency.

They claimed the state did not publish key fiscal documents on time, disqualifying it from performance-based incentives. Ogah, however, dismissed these allegations, asserting that Governor Nwifuru has demonstrated prudent management of state resources, having paid off 80% of debts inherited from previous administrations.

He accused the civil society organizations of being politically motivated and urged them to verify their claims regarding debt management. Ogah demanded a public apology from the coalition, warning that political interests should not tarnish the image of Ebonyi State.
