Civil Society Critiques N100bn Ede Airport Allocation

The civil society organization, Congress of Progressive Youth (COPI), expressed strong disapproval of Governor Ademola Adeleke's allocation of N100 billion for the development of Ede Airport, located in his hometown. During a press conference, COPI's director, Ibrahim Bimbola Aderinto, highlighted the perceived favoritism in the governor's decision-making, noting that nearly N1 billion was spent on the renovation of Sango Shrine while other vital projects, such as the Erin Ijesha Waterfall development, remain unattended.

Aderinto emphasized the disproportionate concentration of resources in Ede, raising concerns about the lack of basic infrastructure in other communities across Osun State. He called for a more equitable distribution of state resources and urged the governor to prioritize the needs of all citizens.

Furthermore, Aderinto stressed the importance of legal processes and community engagement in governance, advocating for peace and security in the state while condemning violence and political drama.
