NGE to Host 4th Lateef Jakande Memorial Lecture

The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) is set to hold the 4th Lateef Jakande Memorial Lecture on July 23 at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. The lecture will focus on the theme "Media, INEC, and Voter Path to Credible Elections." It aims to discuss the media's role in enhancing electoral credibility in Nigeria.

The event will be chaired by former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi, with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expected to be the chief host. Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, will be a special guest of honor.

Senior journalists, media executives, public officials, and civil society representatives are anticipated to attend. The lecture series honors the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, a former governor of Lagos State and a past president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, and serves as a platform for media professionals and policymakers to examine governance issues and the press's role in Nigeria's democracy.
