Orogho Community Rejects Marginalization Claims

On 13 September 2026, indigenes of Orogho community in Edo State, represented by the Orogho Community Concerned Indigenes, denied allegations of marginalization and mismanagement of benefits from companies operating in the area, specifically addressing claims made by Stanley Eghaghe. The community's statement, signed by Youth Leader Nosa Osayande and three others, asserted that Eghaghe lacked the mandate to represent Orogho, as he is from Owuo.

They challenged him to provide concrete evidence of any financial wrongdoing instead of making unsubstantiated claims. The indigenes acknowledged existing challenges but stated that these did not equate to a failure of leadership, citing recent engagements with Seplat regarding community benefits and employment opportunities created through Geoplex.

They urged that concerns should be raised through recognized community structures and reaffirmed their commitment to peace and development, emphasizing that Orogho's affairs should be discussed responsibly.
